A Sussex insider has revealed the real reason Meghan Markle continues to snub the United Kingdom following yet another solo trip to London by Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle is still unwilling to return to the United Kingdom with her husband Prince Harry due to ongoing anxiety over the couple’s personal security in England, an insider has revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Meghan’s native California four years ago, with Markle returning to England on two known occasions since 2020.

Markle, 43, returned to London for Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022, and again that year for the late monarch’s funeral.

Since then, Harry, 39, has returned to London on about a dozen occasions for official events, high court hearings and family occasions, such as the recent funeral of his uncle Robert Fellowes.

According to People magazine, Harry’s anxiety over his family’s security is driving Meghan and their two children’s absence from the UK.

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” an insider told the magazine last week.

The Sussexes were stripped of their taxpayer funded personal security after their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020 by the British Home Office.

An irate Harry has since poured millions of pounds into a legal battle over the British government’s decision, which is currently on appeal.

Noticeably, Meghan has entirely avoided the UK in recent years but has felt comfortable visiting terror hotspots like Nigeria and Colombia.

Despite Harry’s concerns, the Duke reportedly used his most recent trip to contact some of his former trusted advisors about a “blueprint” for establishing a home in the UK again.

The Duke of Sussex is understood to be banking on the Home Office reinstating the taxpayer-funded protection before purchasing a home in the British capital.

Although the Duke is presently without full taxpayer protection, it is understood Harry continues to receive some security support from the British government on an ad hoc basis.

Harry reportedly stayed with his uncle Earl Spencer, Diana’s only brother, at the Spencer family’s remote ancestral home Althorp during the visit last week.

The sprawling stately home in Northamptonshire is located about 121 kilometres outside London and is known for its privacy and security.

The grounds of Althorp are also where Diana is buried on a small island surrounded by a lake, a move designed to protect the late royal’s resting place from prying eyes.
